Managing Stress Through Meditation:  A Two-Hour Introduction

Start time 10 a.m. until noon

Are you looking for ways to cope with the anxieties and stresses of daily life? If so, spend an afternoon learning the science and practice of meditation. Gain an applicable understanding on how meditation works in your body to relieve stress. Participate in a guided practice to feel how we shift from stress to relaxation through meditation and go home with tips/tools to start meditating right away.

No previous meditation experience required.

How to Meditate with Kids and Teens

Start time 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

.

Kids today face added stress and challenges.  They are constantly influenced by the high-speed world happening around them. Meditation can be a way to allow them to disengage and refocus. It contributes to qualities of compassion, resiliency and self -regulation. Spend time in conversation and interactive meditation in this workshop to learn how to introduce meditation to the kids in your life. Rediscover your inner child through fun guided meditations and bring all that you learn back home to the kids you love.  This workshop is for adults only, and is suitable for adults who work or care for kids and teens.

ABOUT ANDREA:  Over the past decade Andrea has worked as a registered nurse. The past seven years she has specialized in critical care and emergency medicine. All of this has allowed her to see the gap within the current healthcare system. There is minimal support to incorporate ways of healing that empower the individual to step into an active role in their own health. From this perspective she has begun to broaden her training to allow her to provide integrative health options to those who seek it. She currently holds a certificate in Thai massage with training in gua sha and cupping from Pacific Rim College. As well as being a certified meditation instructor with Lifestyle Meditation. To continue her education in integrative health she is currently enrolled in the acupuncture program at MacEwan University. She is the owner of Videri Health, an integrative health business with a focus on empowerment and integrative treatment options.
